Original photo - Grandma as a little girl

My New Project

Today, I am going to start work on restoring a photo of my paternal grandmother from her youth. She looks like she might have been somewhere between 6-8 years old. The photo is in very rough shape. There are a lot of creases and image degradation. I love the sepia color to it as it gives it a warm sort

At the Dance (1958)

At the Dance

Here is a throwback of my dad in his teenage days at a dance with some friends. Even in 1958, he had his swagger on.

My Uncle's Wedding

My Uncle’s Wedding

This photo restoration is from my late, Uncle Richard’s wedding. My father was much younger, but was part of the wedding party. If you look in the lower left side of the original photo, you will notice that part of the maid-of-honor’s dress displays and ruins the look of the overall photo. As part of the restoration, I chose to

My Father-in-Law

This photo restoration is of my father-in-law. Unfortunately, he passed away when my husband was only 9 years old, so I never got to meet or know him. This tragedy has inspired me to work on restoring as many photos of him as I can. Even if we never get to meet him in this life, our family will at

That 70s Look

That 70s Look

This photo of my aunt, grandfather, mother, and cousin from 1978 needed a little TLC (tender, loving, care). As with many older color photos, there is a reddish color-cast that drowns out the original colors. It now has been given a new life and will hopefully not need another “dye job” for quite some time.

Army Veteran Photo Restored

Uncle Howard asked my dad for a copy of the Army photo of my Uncle Lafford, who passed away a couple of years ago. He wanted to put it on his wall next to the service photos of himself and my dad. The only one my father could find was a small wallet-size photo that had some damage. Of course,

Siblings

This photo of my dad and two of his siblings was in need of some TLC. I am very proud of the work I did on bringing it back to life. When I first saw the photo, I thought to myself, “Who is in that photo with JJ?” (JJ is my youngest son). Then I realized it was my uncle,

Bouncy Seat

Bouncy Seat

Another oldie-but-goodie photo that I restored of my husband as a baby. Here he is in his bouncy seat. As you can see, the original photo has a reddish-orange streak across it and the colors are fading. It makes me very proud and happy that I was able to restore it as well as I did. I hope you enjoy

Cousins & Siblings

Siblings and Cousins

My dad, his brothers, and several of his cousins posed for this photo taken in the early 1950s. Luckily, I did not have to remove a lot of creases or water damage, but it was definitely in need of some clarity and definition. I especially love being able to take older photos that were printed very small, and being able

My Gran

This is a photo of my great-grandmother. We called her Gran. Also in the photo is my mother (standing), grandfather (Poppy), several of her siblings, and some of her cousins. The original version was beginning to fade, but will now be around for future generations to enjoy.
